Open Show 2010

THE SOUTHERN IRISH TERRIER SOCIETY OPEN SHOW IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHRISTCHURCH & NEW FOREST CS

JUNE 12TH 2010 - JUDGE MR RON PUNTER

Very much enjoyed my day and felt as if I was amongst friends, which is how dog showing should be.  As it's now against KC regulations to show an unsound dog and I can't imagine anyone at this show doing so therefore on this occasion I didn't make a palaver of closely examining every pad.  We will not find "Cracked Pads" in the show ring - it's the breeding of KC registered pets with bad feet that needs to be stopped.

Special for Best coat and colour was a difficult decision.  They all had good harsh wiry coats in a range of typical red colours however on a few had the very desirable characteristic of dark short hair just on the ears so I chose one of these for the award.
