THE SOUTHERN IRISH TERRIER SOCIETY OPEN SHOW IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHRISTCHURCH & NEW FOREST CS
JUNE 8TH 2008 - JUDGE MRS W BOWER (LAKERIDGE)
Thank you for inviting me to judge your Open Show. I thoroughly enjoyed the appointment. I had some lovely dogs to go over and I certainly was not disappointed with the overall quality. I am sure some will go on to greater things. Pads were sound. Bites were good although one or two dogs needed a teeth clean.
Puppy Dog/Bitch (5)
1st Seabridge's KERRYKEEL WOUNDED KNEE AT SUJONCLA. Promising well presented 9 month old dog that was full of himself. Nice head, dark eye with well placed ears, good scissor bite, well laid back shoulder and good y proportions giving pleasing outline, shown in good coat. Moved freely and showed very well. BP & PG1
2nd Ruffles' RUFFMAR BRONZED BALLERINA. Pretty 7 month old bitch who is still very much a baby. Very good coat and colour, nice size and overall balance. Ears a little erratic and need to settle. Moved OK. RBP
3rd Wooding's WOODRAITH GOLDEN BUTTERCUP
Res Bamsey's HOLBAM PEARLY SHANNON
VHC Goddard's ALLATSEA GIFT OF GOLD AT MARSHCOURT
Junior Dog (2) (1a)
1st Anderson's KERRYKEEL RONAN. Loved this young dog very typical with good head, well placed ears and dark eye, lovely balanced outline and excellent coat and condition. Tail well set on and carried correctly. One to watch. RBD
Junior Bitch (1) (1a)
Post Graduate Dog (1) (1a)
Post Graduate Bitch (3)
1st Bamsey's HOLBAM TIERNEY. Feminine and of nice size, dark eye, ears a little unsettled but when used gave a pleasing expression, good coat texture, sound, moved OK.
2nd Keegan's MARSHCOURT GOLD DUST ALLATSEA. Heavier type than 1, nice dark eye, fell away a little behind the shoulder but otherwise reasonable overall balance. Moved OK.
3rd Looker's FROSTROW FIRST LIGHT
Open Dog (2) (1a)
1st Seabridge's SUJONCLA SINTE GALESHKA. Nicely balanced and shown in good condition, straight front with shoulders well laid back, correct length of back with strong quarters, good bone, tail well set on. Moved and showed well. BD & RBIS
Open Bitch (5) (1a)
1st Anderson's KERRYKEEL ORLAITH. Classy bitch with plenty of style, lovely head and expression, good length of neck and well laid back shoulders, strong body and correct front, harsh coat of good colour, well presented. Showed and moved well. BB & BIS
2nd Seabridge's SUJONCLA TECMSEH. Feminine bitch shown in first class order, lovely head and small dark eye, the best of fronts and excellent quarters. Moved OK - just did not give it her all. RBB
3rd Goddard's MARSHCOURT TOPAZ
Res Wooding's SUJONCLA WHITE HORSE
Veteran (2)
1st Bamsey's MONTELLE NIGHT STAR. BV
2nd Ruffles' RUFFMAR BRONZED TEAZEL.
Both these bitches were a credit to their owners. Both shown in reasonably good coat and condition, very good teeth and moved well. My first place used her ears to better advantage and was carrying less weight.
