THE SOUTHERN IRISH TERRIER SOCIETY OPEN SHOW IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHRISTCHURCH & NEW FOREST CS
JULY 18TH 2004 - JUDGE LYN FEGAN (INCHICORE)
My thanks to SITS for inviting me to judge their Open Show and congratulations to Christchurch & New Forest for a well organised show with a lovely friendly atmosphere. A pleasing entry, with a particularly encouraging selection of puppies, though dogs were a little thin on the ground. All feet were in good condition, but care should be taken about the cleaning of teeth and some exhibits were carrying too much weight for my liking.
Puppy (7) (1A)
1st Stirling & Williamson's MONTELLE MI'LADY. Cracking little bitch, still immature but with it all to come. She gave BB a good run for her money in the challenge and will go far. Lovely hard coat, food head and expression, ears still settling, neat movement. Well presented and handled. BP. Delighted to hear she went on to BPIS at C&NFCS
2nd Summer's JACKMIRE SPIRITED LADY. Very pretty feminine bitch, well presented in good coat.
3rd Keegan's MARSHCOURT GOLD DUST. A promising bitch. Still immature with lots of puppy coat and playful so hard to judge movement.
Res Tritton's AILINGTON FIRECRACKER. RBD
Junior (2) (1a)
1st Ruffles' BRONZED DANCER. Alone, but a worthy winner. A promising bitch though slightly on the heavy side. Well presented.
Post Graduate (3) (2a)
1st McBride's ANA RUPEE WITH LOCKSWAY. Would have liked to have seen less coat and a little less weight but a true Irish with a proper glint in her eye.
Limit (2)
1st Bamsey's JACMIRE MY GIRL. A hard call between these two. Nice bitch, good mover, feminine head. RBB
2nd Ruffles' RUFFMAR BRONZED BRACKEN. Lovely coat, a little heavy and movement a little sluggish.
Open Dog (1)
1st Goddard & Govey's MARSHCOURT JUSTIN TIME. Quality dog, not in full coat, but still showing a lovely rangy outline, good movement and presence. BD & BIS
Open Bitch (4) (1a)
1st Ruffles' RUFFMAR BRONZED TEAZEL. A bitch that oozes quality and seems to have improved with age. Well balanced, food coat, lovely easy movement, proper feminine Irish expression. BB & BV
2nd Rundle's GAB;EDPWM CALYPSO OF PENMIRE. A smaller bitch, with not as much range as I'd like. Shown with a 'skirt' which spoiled the outline for me. Nice expression with good dark eye.
3rd McBride's ANA RUPEE WITH LOCKSWAY
