Open Show 2001

THE SOUTHERN IRISH TERRIER SOCIETY OPEN SHOW IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHRISTCHURCH & NEW FOREST CS

JULY 15TH 2001 - JUDGE MR JIM ROWLEY

There were more bitches (15) than dogs (5), the quality of the exhibits varied in each class, but overall they were well turned out.  It was nice to have a good sized ring to evaluate movement.

Puppy (2)
1st  Jess' ARCADIAN ALBERTINE AT MOHER, good coat & colour nice tailset & ears, pleasing feminine look, settled well on the move, drove well from rear BP & PG3
2nd  Symond's GABLEDOWN FLEUR, short on coat & ears need to settle, nice feminine type, good overall shape & size for age.  Unfortunately did not have the drive of 1.

Junior (4)
1st  Anderson's KENMILLEN CARLIE OF KERRYKEEL, good topline & tailset, adequate depth of rib, good head & ears, mouth OK, hard coat of good colour, moved well.
2nd  Seabridge's SUJONCLA CROW, lost to 1 on earset & expression, nice sized bitch moved well but not quite as tight as 1.  In all other aspects as good as 1.
3rd  O'Brien & Looker's EDBRIOS BERNIES LOVE

Post Graduate (5)
1st  Anderson's KENMILLEN FINNBAR OF KERRYKEEL, brother to winner of Junior but coat not quite as good but what there was was of good colour, well made young dog, good head & expression, good ear carriage setting it off, moved well.
2nd  Ruffles' RUFFMAR BRONZED BRACKEN, nice bitch, caught my eye before, feminine in all aspects, moved well, well boned, good outline, hard coat of correct colour.
3rd  Summer's NEWGUILD TOFFEE.

Limit (6) (1a)
1st  Seabridge's GABLEDOWN BELLE FLEUR AT SUJONCLA, lovely bitch type, good expression, head & ears, mouth fine, nice size & colour of eye, good shape & size, good tailset, moved well from all angles, a well turned out bitch.
2nd  Symond's PENMIRE RUSTIC LAD, well sized dog, correct expression, outline, good coat & colour, well boned, correct tailset.  Movement looser than 1.
3rd  Ruffles'  RUFFMAR BRONZED TEASEL

Open (4)
1st  Seabridge's SUJONCLA BLCKFOOT, caught the eye as soon as he came into the ring, looked like he owned the ring right from the start, head & ears spot on, good hard expression, front, topline & tailset gave a good overall picture both on the move & stood still.  the only criticism was that the coat perhaps needed a bit more work, a worthy winner.  BOB & GS
2nd  Lloyd's BRAZAN SOMEWTHING ABOUT MAY TO TRUSTGOOD, now a champion I was told & one I have seen & liked in the past, pleasing to the eye & the overall picture says 'Irish'.  Unfortunately did not want to settle for her handler & her movement let her down, everything else about her was correct in all departments.  Unfortunate to come up against the dog on top form.
3rd  Nichol's TIOBRAID ROSIE
